What is Samhain?

Samhain is a festival of Celtic origin, a celebration during which people paid their respects to the deceased. Today in paganism, it represents the last harvest festival before winter where the deceased and the beginning of winter are celebrated. For some pagans, Samhain is the witches' new year. We know this holiday by another name: Halloween.
